Arrest Made For Attempted Murder

Narrative:
On Saturday, 06/13/2009, the Sheriff’s Gang Unit arrested Fidel Duran for a gang-related attempted murder that occurred in the City of Ojai on New Years Eve. Duran was in custody at the Ventura County Mail Jail on other unrelated charges at the time of his arrest.
On the morning of 01/01/2009, at about 1:45 a.m., Joshua Powers, 28 years-of-age, was walking home from a party in the 200 block of Waite Street. Powers was confronted by individuals who were attending a nearby party. Powers was attacked and stabbed 17 times. The suspects fled leaving Powers lying unconscious on the street. A short time later, an anonymous person called emergency personnel and reported that Powers was lying in the street. Powers was transported to Ojai Hospital where he narrowly survived his wounds. Powers was in the hospital for several days before being released.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Gang Unit conducted a 5-month investigation and identified Ojai gang member Fidel Duran as the person who stabbed Powers. Gang investigators believe Duran did not act alone and they expect to make more arrests. Duran is being held at the Ventura County Jail on $505,000 bail on charges of attempted murder and street terrorism.
It took that long to figure it out? No wonder so many people get away with what they do.

PLease, let us lock up every single one of the hoodlums that use violence against others in Ojai. It is getting scary these days. Incredible and unfathonable violent attacks are happening right here. Those that commit these crimes go about their days like “nothins goin’ on”. They have ABSOLUTELY no remorse for what they do. Its like second nature to them. ~GET THIS SCUM OFF THE STREET~

except for a lot of bravour i dont think there is a loy of iq in the department and it probely took so long too investigate because of pot problems within the wheels of justice turn very slooooow for a reason

Imagine all the settlements when all those wrongfully accused and falsely imprisoned, separated families sue ca department of justice you think ca is broke now, they wont be able use the taxes collected from pot for anything other than legal fees and payouts
maybe one day those wheels of justice will turn cautiously.
Besides duran will get right back out when ca releases 10,000+ hard core rapists,pedophiles,murders, as the threat from the terminator was dictated.
Don’t worry they are only going to take 50 or 60,000 police,parole,probation officers off the streets you will still be safe when the military comes to town

It took a long time because the police want to have a tight case before making an arrest. No one would be happy for the accused to get off because the police had not done enough investigative work.

oh my………..i moved here in 1980 with 2 little girls….they are grown now and moved away cause theyre smart…….i am moving too!!! this town is not the one i loved so much in the early 80s……no police presence except for traffic stuff dear police…you really need to be watching the rest of this town!!!!!
