Rangers Eliminated By Torrance, 34-33

By Mike Miller
The Nordhoff Rangers suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the final seconds of tonight’s CIF-SS second round playoff game. After a back-and-forth game, the Rangers took a 33-28 lead with less than a minute to play. The Torrance Tartars came back to win after they threw a desperation pass for a touchdown with 16 seconds to play in the game.

Isaac Seymour was unstoppable, rushing for nearly 300 yards and three touchdowns. The loss for Nordhoff will sting for a while because of a number of mental errors, including several unsportsmanlike penalties. See Wednesday’s OVN for more details on the game.

  1. Thank you Torrance Parent.
My brain was processing information way too fast – as usual – when I wrote the first reply. ’73 was my graduation year. Ooops!
The point is: I spent 4 years @ Nordhoff and have fond memories of playing many sports there as well as Meiners Oaks elementary & Matilija jr. high. Growing up in Ojai was a blast! So many things to do and adventures accomplished. Ahhh… :-)

  2. I agree with you Condor, Stans comment was completely uncalled for. If you have nothing nice to say Stan, I suggest you say nothing at all. Nordhoff played an awesome game Friday night and Torrance was lucky to get the win. #26 is an awesome player and was almost unstoppable. I bet football is not his only sport. Good luck to all the boys on their next endeavor’s.

  3. Actually I meant ti type ’69 or ’70 was my freshman year.
And ‘STAN’ – Really? Who the heck cares if I don’t have total recall? Your comment was Very insensative. You ought to hope your brain Never gets foggy and forgetful – Your comment is one of so many I see posted here that seem to Shout HATE, while spewing venom! Have a nice day :-) :-(

  4. Boy, if you cannot figure out what year you were a freshman, not too sure if we can take your word about how many games you won!

But, yeah, the current squad should be proud of themselves! We ARE proud of you!

  5. I remember playing for the Rangers way back in ’69 or ’73 as a freshman defensive lineman. We had a good year – won all games but 2, if I recall correctly. The point is: we had lots of fun!
Hold your heads up and be proud guys, GO RANGERS!!!
